Where it all begins
Where did it all begin? Can you remember the day that you woke up and realize that you wanted to be a teacher, a doctor, a lawyer, a dancer or an actrice? Being inspired by the people surrounding you or what you have seen on the TV or heard on the radio. Suddenly there was a fire inside of you and you where determent to be what you desired to be. Is that fire still burning or did it slowly go out during the years because of life and problems. know that it's nerver to late!
Peaceful is the mind, Thoughtful is the heart the road of beginners
The stareways up to heaven we reach out to when the shadows of fallen stars come down. Mysterious we dance around seeking to find our lost steps back in the race.
Ik hou van theater, ik hou van spoken word en ik hou van acteren. Sinds vorige maand ben ik begonnen aan de theaterschool in Rotterdam: www.rcth.nl Zoals jullie misschien al weten heb ik vorig jaar een eigen poetryshow: De Stem Van De Vrouw in een theater in Rotterdam uitgevoerd. www.larenkamp.nl. Op een poëtische wijze heb ik samen met 3 andere vrouwen de verhalen van een vrouw vorm gegeven. Met een heel team hebben wij een creatieve theater/poetryproductie neergezet. Later hebben wij dezelfde show met een kleinere groep dames uitgevoerd in www.nolimitzo.nl. Dit was een van mijn doelen. Een productie maken met een diversiteit aan culturen en talenten om andere meiden en vrouwen te bemoedigen en inspireren.
Het is mijn streven om nog meer producties uit te voeren om anderen te inspireren. Daarom heb ik de keuze gemaakt om mij verder op een professionele manier te verdiepen in alle aspecten van het acteren en theatermaken. Ik volg nu part time les, ik moet heel veel voorstellingen bezoeken, producties maken en kijkverslagen schrijven. Waar ik ontzettend van geniet. Ik vind het heerlijk om naar theaterproducties te kijken, vooral als het een theaterproductie is met een diversiteit aan culturen. Wonend in een stad als Rotterdam wil je graag en verwacht je ook diversiteit op een professionele niveau weer terug te zien in het theater en niet alleen in de amateur sector. Dit heb ik helaas nog niet teruggezien in de voorstellingen die ik in de schouwburg heb bezocht.
Als Antilliaan en liefhebber van theater en acteren mis ik dit in het theater en op de Nederlandse tv. Ja je hebt soms wel eens een soap of film met een of twee donkere acteurs en actrices. Maar daar blijft het dan ook bij. In verhouding met andere landen lopen wij nog steeds enorm achter met wat betreft diversiteit in de theater, tv en filmsector. Het blijft mij nog steeds enorm verbazen hoe dat in de wereld van vandaag nog mogelijk is terwijl er zoveel creatieve talent in Nederland woonachtig is.

Your eyes, your ears, your voice, do you know that you where perfectly created and formed, exactly in the way God wanted you to be. He sees the ability’s in you and knows what He can do through you?A lot of times when we look at ourselves we only see the things we cannot do, that's also the way it is in the world today. Sometimes people only look at you for the things that you can and what you have achieved. God looks at you and sees all kind of ability’s and opportunity’s. He also want us to look at our self like that, and that we stop complaining when He call us to step out in greatness. Many times we think, I’m not good enough, I don't have that agree to do that, our we have failed for some things in the past and now we are afraid to try it again. Don’t you know that those who have success are those who never gave up. God did not give us a spirit offear but ofpower and of love and of a sound mind. (2 tim 1:7) We need to stop thinking like victims, stop looking at our problems like they are giants. Instead of that we need to focus and know the greatness of God that lives inside of us. God created us just the way He wanted us to be, He gave us all different kind of talents to use it, to multiply it, to use it in this dark world to make a difference in the world. God loves us and wants good things for us. God loves you and has a hopeful future for you! Not only for me, but also for you! God is willing and more than able if you just believe. What your mind and heart believes, that is who you are and who you will always be. Stop believing the negativity you have heard all your life or what people have been telling you. But start believing the promises God has for your life!
Are you really celebrating Christmas?
Think for 1 minute, what can you do for someonelse with christmas this year?
Not even for your love ones but for a total stranger. How can you give christmas to someone else? If you look around you, you will find enough to share and give to someone else. Christmas is not about presents, wearing your greatest outfit. It's about celebrating the birth of Christ and the reason why He came into this world. To love, to give, to share with those who are in need, of Love, hope, life and faith. Stop thinking about yourself for 1 minute and give a christmas to someone else this year!
3 December 2011, I had my first poetry show: Visions, thoughts and dreams. Live in a small theatre in Amsterdam. A vision I had last year, of me creating my own poetry show incl. other creative talents. It has always been 1 of my desires to create my own creative shows. All I had was a vision from God the talent he gave me and my faith. Now was the time, I had to do this, I had to walk in faith and do what i knew God called me to do. Encourage and bless others with the talent God gave me. God did not give us talents to hide it, just like a light that should not be hidden under the table put on its stand. (matt 5:15)
I had been working for months on the project, everything in me wanted to go and do this. But the process didn't go the way I hoped. There where mountains and obstacles. Now I had to put my faith in practice and trust in God. Even on the day of the show there where obstacles, but that did not stop me of doing what I had to do. I surrender it all in the hands of God. The audience God wanted to be there and the message of the show. That the seed of love, faith and hope would be planted in the hearts of those who were there. A seed that would not be forgotten. I am thankful that in the midst of the storm I was able to do this. God works in ways we cannot see. In the world today people measure success with their possessions our achievements. (1 samuel 16:7) Success is not found in our achievements our possessions but what is found within our hearts.
How easy it is to have dreams, it's another story to have good dreams and it's a whole other story to realize those dreams. We all have them; we all desire to live our dreams. In each and every one of us there is a seed we have been carrying around since we were children. Every morning I wake up and now this is another special day given to me. Another day closer to realize my dreams. I already wasted too many years in believing the wrong thoughts and the wrong ideas. It took me a while to truly understand and realize that all that I needed God already planted in me. I have to work today to change tomorrow. What I do today will influence tomorrow. I’m also learning to face reality when it comes down to realize your dreams you have to be ready to face battles because the road to your destiny isn't always easy. Sometimes it's like the closer you get the harder you have to fight. Fighting circumstances, fighting people, and yes, even yourself. In this life I’m learning how important it is to encourage yourself because sometimes everything and everybody seems to be working against you. Right at that moment when you need them the most. I learned that if you can't encourage yourself, if you don't believe in the treasures that God placed inside of you the whole world around you can say whatever they want to encourage you, but if you don't believe it, that seed inside of you will never grow up and unfold in what it was supposed to do! So stand up and take responsibility over your life!
