Make up like a queen/ #IWANTTOSEEMORECOLORONMYTV

Hello Beautiful People,
Last week we had kingsday in the Netherlands. This inspired me to dress up and own that day like a queen and experiment with fabulous colors. I am also sharing my opinion as a carribean actress and my desire on more color on the TV. Yes I want to see more color on my dutch TV, on the big screen, the media, fashion and on Top! We live in a place with so many cultural diversity I want to see that reflected when I look at my TV or open up a magazine. Unfortunately this is not the case, after years and years of speaking on how to bring that change. I believe the change is only gonna come when we ourself rise up and start creating our own content/film/tv series/magazines and businesses. I want to see more black filmwriters, I want to see more black TV productions, I want to see more black filmmakers, I want to see more black actors and actresses in a tv serie or on the big screen. I want to see more black hosts on tv, I want to see more color on my TV. I want to see more color on the cover of a magazine, I want to see more color on TOP! #IWANTTOSEEMORECOLORONMYTV #IWANTTOSEEMORECOLORONTHECOVEROFAMAGAZINE #IWANTTOSEEMORECOLORONTOP As a woman of Purpose, a woman of Faith, I also want this with faithcontent! In the states I know they are very active, in Africa they are very active in writing and producing faith entertainment tv shows/films/stageplays. The meaning of love

The meaning of love goes through my mind a thousand times a day. The searching of Love goes through this world countless times in different ways. Who can say where it started and who can say where it ends?
Love has been already here, before we were here. We all love to love, but as much as we love, we also have the tendency to fall out of love. The only way to learn about love is to find love itself. God is love. He is jealous for our love for Him. He will never fall in and out of love with us. He loved us when we were still sinners drowning in our sins. He loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins while we were still sinners. Our human mind cannot comprehend the unconditional love that God has for each and every one of us.

Rollercoaster

Wow, I don’t even know where to start but there has a lot going on. I started the theatre school in September. I have been learning and practicing a lot on different actingmethodes and writingmethodes. Rehearsals, rehearsals and rehearsals. Beside that I also got an opportunity from Bijlmerparktheatre to work on a new poetry production. I participated last year in a project Talentlab with 4 other poets. So this year we will continue as a group. We have been brainstorming on how to mix dance and poetry together. This time we’ll also be working with dancers. Keep your eye open for my poetry group. Point! Is our group name and we will be performing in different places this year. Yaaaayyyyy
So I have been working, writing, brainstorming and jumping from town to town, doing what I love the most.

And this is the one thing that is so important doing what I love the most. The only reason I can give my all, even when the process gets tough sometimes is because it is what I love to do.

Beside that I have been reading books about entrepreneurs, watching a lot of motivational speeches, seminars, visiting business meetings and listening to radio/podcast shows about entrepreneurs. Something what I love 2 do. To stay up to date and informed about the market of entrepreneurs.

The book I'm reading at this moment, I truly suggest everyone that is interested in having a successful career in work and life to check this book out! It has become a New York bestseller so you won't regret buying and reading this encouraging, funny, inspirational, eye opener: It’s a book written by Ivanka Trump: The Trump Card. A book about reaching goals and the do’s and don’t if you want to be successful in your work and in life.

Krater Art & Community Festival

After 1 year of sweat and tears we rocked the stage friday and saturday with Talentlab Poetry @ Bijlmerpark theatre. It was an amazing journey with lots of love, kindness, challenges and creative words. Doing what I love 2 do most. Sharing my talents to uplift and encourage the people around me. :)

Diversiteit in het theater.......

Ik hou van theater, ik hou van spoken word en ik hou van acteren. Sinds vorige maand ben ik begonnen aan de theaterschool in Rotterdam: www.rcth.nl Zoals jullie misschien al weten heb ik vorig jaar een eigen poetryshow: De Stem Van De Vrouw in een theater in Rotterdam uitgevoerd. www.larenkamp.nl. Op een poëtische wijze heb ik samen met 3 andere vrouwen de verhalen van een vrouw vorm gegeven. Met een heel team hebben wij een creatieve theater/poetryproductie neergezet. Later hebben wij dezelfde show met een kleinere groep dames uitgevoerd in www.nolimitzo.nl. Dit was een van mijn doelen. Een productie maken met een diversiteit aan culturen en talenten om andere meiden en vrouwen te bemoedigen en inspireren.

Het is mijn streven om nog meer producties uit te voeren om anderen te inspireren. Daarom heb ik de keuze gemaakt om mij verder op een professionele manier te verdiepen in alle aspecten van het acteren en theatermaken. Ik volg nu part time les, ik moet heel veel voorstellingen bezoeken, producties maken en kijkverslagen schrijven. Waar ik ontzettend van geniet. Ik vind het heerlijk om naar theaterproducties te kijken, vooral als het een theaterproductie is met een diversiteit aan culturen. Wonend in een stad als Rotterdam wil je graag en verwacht je ook diversiteit op een professionele niveau weer terug te zien in het theater en niet alleen in de amateur sector. Dit heb ik helaas nog niet teruggezien in de voorstellingen die ik in de schouwburg heb bezocht.

Als Antilliaan en liefhebber van theater en acteren mis ik dit in het theater en op de Nederlandse tv. Ja je hebt soms wel eens een soap of film met een of twee donkere acteurs en actrices. Maar daar blijft het dan ook bij. In verhouding met andere landen lopen wij nog steeds enorm achter met wat betreft diversiteit in de theater, tv en filmsector. Het blijft mij nog steeds enorm verbazen hoe dat in de wereld van vandaag nog mogelijk is terwijl er zoveel creatieve talent in Nederland woonachtig is.

What is success!

What is success?

3 December 2011, I had my first poetry show: Visions, thoughts and dreams. Live in a small theatre in Amsterdam. A vision I had last year, of me creating my own poetry show incl. other creative talents. It has always been 1 of my desires to create my own creative shows. All I had was a vision from God the talent he gave me and my faith. Now was the time, I had to do this, I had to walk in faith and do what i knew God called me to do. Encourage and bless others with the talent God gave me. God did not give us talents to hide it, just like a light that should not be hidden under the table put on its stand.

I had been working for months on the project, everything in me wanted to go and do this. But the process didn't go the way I hoped. There where mountains and obstacles. Now I had to put my faith in practice and trust in God.
Even on the day of the show there where obstacles, but that did not stop me of doing what I had to do. I surrender it all in the hands of God. The audience God wanted to be there and the message of the show. That the seed of love, faith and hope would be planted in the hearts of those who were there. A seed that would not be forgotten. I am thankful that in the midst of the storm I was able to do this. God works in ways we cannot see. In the world today people measure success with their possessions our achievements. (1 samuel 16:7) Success is not found in our achievements our possessions but what is found within our hearts.
