Woman to talk about Anxiety /Fear/ Depression.

I want to get real and have authentic conversations about Anxiety/ Fear/ Depression. So many people are dealing with this. Inside and outside the church. Yet nobody wants to talk about it! Cause it would shame us, or mean we have a lack of faith in God and ourselves. So we suffer in our own silence, embarrassed to share and open up about what is really going on inside.

We are living in an age where we all want to be perfect for the world outside, be the best version of ourselves, have our own businesses, be our own bosses, we want to have the perfect family, drive the latest car, wear the newest Gucci bag, have the latest iPhone, and live in the perfect house. We sacrifice our time, our health, our whole being trying to keep up with a lifestyle we can show off with. But to whom? For who? We want to follow everything and everybody and we want to be followed by everything and everybody cause we don't want to miss out. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with wanting to have a luxury lifestyle and having big goals but we have to keep it real. Every goal comes with a sacrifice. And we shouldn't hide away or feel a shame from sharing the ugly, painful, raw sacrifices as well.

We live in a, (I call it microwave age) of producing, being perfect, being the best without going through the season of falling, grieve, molding, learning. We want instant gratification. All of this brings so much pressure, that we often times forget what it really means to live life in the moment. To be transformed from the inside out, to reflect, to build character and to work on our relationships. I too experience the pressure of life, the pressure of where I am in life, the pressure of time, the ticking of my biological clock.

Yes, my painful truth! Being a 39 single woman has been putting so much pressure on me.

I too have been dealing with depressed feelings and thoughts cause I felt like a failure. Why didn't I achieve all that I prayed for, all that I worked for, all that I studied for, all that I believed for.

Why was I in this place. Did God forgot about me? Did He oversee me? Why is this single season, taking soooo long. What do I have to learn from all of this? Why do I have to deal with these health issues? Why is my feminity/womanhood being attacked? What's going on? I felt as if my body gave up on me? It felt like losing all control over my life. Too many layers I could not carry any more. All of this brought me in a dark place, I daily fight hard to not fall back into. Life often times can be hard, difficult and painful. And yet we still manage to walk around with a smile on our face as if everything is perfect. I have been guilty on this 2. More and more I'm learning to open up and be real about my journey and the season I'm in.

I had moments where I felt like I'm just gonna stop and let it all go. Being tired of fighting all the time. Then God sends a word, a message, a sister, a brother or even a heart of a total stranger. Letting me know not to give up, not to give in. He shows me He is not letting go of me and my life still has purpose, even though I can't see it all the time. Sometimes I only see one part of the vision I need to work on. That is then what I try to do. One step at a time. Through my pain, through my struggles, through my own journey I try to encourage others, try to listen and try to stay positive. And one thing that I experienced throughout the Poetry&Talkshows, throughout my stormy seasons how encouraging, how empowering, how hopeful it is to share our stories, to talk about our feelings, to be authentic and to be real with one another.

That is what I also want for my Woman of Purpose Talkshow. I want to keep it real. Life comes in seasons, the Ups and Downs. We can't only talk about our Ups and ignore the Downs. They both matter, that is what forms us to become strong and purposeful ladies. I recently heard about the 3 P's. Your Past, Your Pain forms Your Purpose. Our Purpose is birthed from the pain of our past. God uses everything for our good. Some powerful revelation to think about. That is why I want to have these conversations to talk with other ladies that have been dealing with anxiety, fear, or depression and hear how they have been tackling it or how they live through it right now! What keeps them going, what is it that gives them hope back again, how are they dealing and fighting to get their lives back?

It was an amazing experience. Always loved acting, act crazy on stage and behind the mirror. (I still do that once in a while 😂) And when that audition came up. I really believed and claimed it was for me. I remember as a child, I used to dream, I used to dream big. Since I was little girl God placed great visions in my heart. Visions beyond my own imagination. Then somewhere along the way of growing up and disappointment after graduation and feeling trapped between a job where I cannot grow and develop that what God placed inside of me, and the same monthly bills over and over again. I started to loose pieces of me. Pieces of that adventurous girl living inside of me. I am a woman of purpose and believe we all have a purpose in life. Nobody is here just to take up space. I'm not there yet. The things that I am doing are just a beginning. When I was in Los Angeles and New York, away from the daily routine, I realized how much I neglected that girl inside of me, how much I neglected that, what gives me joy. I really try to guard my heart that I don't forget who I am, what I love to do and where I want to go. At the end of my road I don't want to die with all these dreams, thoughts and visions inside of me. I don't want to leave this place and missed the hope and future God has for me. I don't want to spend the best of my life selling myself, my talents and gifts to build up someone elses dream. I pray that you too will open up and listen to that spontaneous, adventurous girl or boy living inside of you. Too many times we forget about ourselves, we stop dreaming because we lost hope and faith. And then we get cut up in this rat race of life. I want to encourage you don't stop dreaming. There is a reason, a purpose why God placed these dreams and desires in your heart. Having a vision in life is so important. In the word of God, Salomo, the wisest man that ever lived said: Without a vision the people perish. We all need a vision that rises up the spirit within us. It is so important that we know who we are and whose we are. In God we find secret keys that will unlock the talents and gifts He placed inside of us, for a divine purpose. "Live your life or life will outlive you."

When I was in Los Angeles I had to record one of my poems in the Hollywood area. So I took my selfie stick and went outside, the sun was burning on my skin, but I couldn't leave the love of my life without introducing her to my passion. I had to combine those two together. The butterflies I feel inside each time I look at her beautiful sunset, the sound of the rhythm that becomes one with my heartbeat, the blush on my face by just calling her name. California you and I we have things thing going on. You rock my world. All my creativity and my ideas come to life when I inhale the energy of dreams and visions that God has blessed you with!

Sit down and count your blessings. Always remember the good times, it will strengthen you!

More Of You

More of You describes my thirst and hunger for more of God's presence. The more we seek Him, The more He stretches our mind and heart desires into the things that are above. What do we have if we have the whole world but don't have God? Nothing. We should never settle or be content with where we are with our walk with Christ. God is everlasting so in this life we will never figure out all of His goodness, all of His greatness, all of His love and all of His mercy. Our assignment and responsibility as Christians is to seek Him more and more so we can hear His voice and walk in alignment with Him, to complete the plan He has for our lives.

More of You came forth after prayer, or actually while I was praying with my face flat on the floor. I was in tears cause I was tired of me and myself standing in God's way. I was tired of reading about all the promises and not seeing it come to pass, or seeing just little victories. I know and have always known in the core of my bones that God is real. No theory God, but a true living God. If you have ever had an encounter with God, you know, that you know, that you know that God is for real. He will speak to you in a dream, through a person and even through non believers. God can, and will use anybody or anything to answer a prayer or to get to your soul.

The reason we can't hear him is because all of the distractions in life. Television, Social Media, Music, Work, School. We do so much nowadays that we get uncomfortable to be with ourselves. When it's still and quiet, and the only thing you can hear is your own heartbeat. We don't know what to do with it and turn on music. We get on social media, call or app our friends. Anything to beat the silence in and around us. And that is exactly what God needs. That we come to the child within us, that is willing, that is open, that is pure. He wants us to come back to the heart of worship. That doesn't mean God wants you to be perfect. He want's you just the way that you are. With all your imperfections and flaws, with your hurt, with your pain, with your anger and with your jealousy. He just wants you to come at His feet and lay it all down and that you surrender. Surrender to His plan, surrender to his will for your life. He that formed you in your mother's womb knew you before you were born. He who know's you better than you know yourself, He knows exactly what you need to be happy, to be whole and complete.

It's important for us as Christians to know that we cannot find our happiness in things, we cannot find our joy in things and we cannot find our purpose in things if we don't find ourselves in Christ first. In him we find our true identity. In Him we live, move and have our being. When we find ourselves in Him, he will show us the hidden gifts and talents that lives within us. In God we will find the keys to unlock the gifts and talents to our purpose. We won't find it outside God. Yes, you may find a good thing, but you don't just want a good thing. You want the things from above. By that I mean you can have good things, but everything has a season and will pass away. You want your God given purpose that will lead and bring forth life. That is the ultimate goal of being called and chosen by the Lord. God didn't call or choose us to be like the world, but to show and represent His kingdom. He called us to show His unconditional love and to share words of life. We have been called to be the light in the world, to be the salt of the earth. We have been called to be like Christ.
Many times we pray and ask God to use us in a mighty way. We pray for miracles, signs and wonders, but we don't want to spend time with him. Or we just have instant fast prayers, and I use to do that too. But there is a reason why Christ woke up at dawn to pray. We cannot expect to walk in God's power if we don't make time to work on our relationship with Him. I am not saying that I am perfect, cause I am not. I do know that if we want more of the great I am, we have to seek him more, pray more, and really hunger to become more like His son. Less of ourselves and more of Him. I came to this point when I got tired of me, myself and I, me living in my comfort zone, tired of trying things on my own, in my own strength. I really wanted to see, hear and feel God's presence more than anything. God said it in His word. He is the everlasting God. He who was, is, and is to come. So I knew for myself if I couldn't hear Him, If I couldn't feel Him, I had to do some self research. I had to surrender and lay it all down at His feet. And yes, the atmosphere started to shift, things started to change. He has been renewing my mind and I have been hearing His voice so much clearer and louder. I am so enjoying the presence of The Lord and where He is taking me. God has a plan for each and every one of us, but it can only be revealed if we stay close to Him. If we seek Him and stay in alignment with Him.

I want to encourage you, if you are feeling like God is not there. If you feel like He is not answering your prayers. Seek Him. Be honest to yourself and talk to him, just the way that you are. God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten son to die for this world. Keep your eyes on Him and seek Him above all. Cause what do we gain if we have the whole world, but lose our souls. Even Christians walk away from God and go into the world to seek for joy and happiness. Temporary solutions. Only in Christ, we will find everlasting joy and happiness. I just want to encourage you to stay close to God and continue to seek Him more and more through prayer, through fasting, by reading your word and worship. God will answer.

Faith

Since I was a little girl I breathed faith. Although I could not see, I knew that there was something greater. I believed that what you could think, dream or fantasize it had to be possible. I still believe that if you can dream it, fantasize and believe it. You can make it come true. Why I always felt such a strong power in believing and in having Faith I do not know, but I thank God for placing that awareness in my heart. One thing I do know is that Faith has always been my focus in life, my rock to push on and to believe in the best of life and in the impossible. Now that I am richer in age, I am fascinated by the subject Faith. I love to read about Faith and I soak up all the preachings of TD Jakes about Faith. I just can’t get enough of that subject. I believe Faith has to do with my purpose. It is Faith that always makes me stretch forward. It is Faith that doesn’t want and doesn’t let me settle. It is faith that keeps my soul alive. Through Faith I live, through Faith I create and through Faith I believe I can do all things.  

I’m not here to say that it’s always easy. Believe me when I say I had moments I cried, I screamed, I got upset, got angry, didn’t understand anything of what was going on. Didn’t understand anything of God’s plan. But everytime He showed me that He was right there. He would send someone to bless me. Or He would give me a word through a preaching. A little child at work would say something special or would ask me to pray with her. Or a colleague would say how much I have blessed her. God always finds a way to show His love to you. He would show me His kindness and everytime I had to go back on my knees and humble myself. The funny thing is that after my crazy childish act, God would always give me my time to cry and after I cried my eyes out, He would say: When you are finished, I want you to get back up, put your head up high and don’t quit. Here I felt Faith pushing me to continue. To continue not to give up and not to settle for mediocrity or less. So through all the pain I still felt Faith pushes me to go further or to dig deeper within myself. There are treasures God placed inside of us that can only grow and bear fruit through pressure. Just like a diamond. Only pressure can make a diamond. Test and trials may come, but we have the promises of God that He would not leave or forsake us. And we have the promise that when we keep our eyes on God through the season of test and trials we will reap the fruit of our faith. We will be rewarded after the storm is over. Isn’t that a beautiful promise to hold on to Faith no matter what.

So I want to encourage you, no matter what you are going through right now. God sees it all. He knows it all. He is right there by your side. Pray and ask him what He wants you to learn from this season? What is inside of you that you feel you have to do? Sometimes we are being pushed to dig deep within ourselves because the gifts and talents, the answers are already there. There is always a reason for our seasons. Don’t give up believing, don’t give up on your dreams, keep your head up high. Know that after the season is over through Faith you will be rewarded for your Faith in God.

Life is Calling You Out!

Inspired by one of the preachings of T.D Jakes I created this post.

You will never know what's inside of you if you are living in your comfort zone. Challenge yourself and learn new things, new skills to discover the greatness within you. Never settle for anything less, get back up when you fall and move on. Yes, life can be hard sometimes, we sometimes don't understand why things go the way they go, but we can never give up hope, we can never give up faith. We cannot give up on life, love and our dreams. We are all created for greatness, each in his/ her own way cause blessings are needed in every place. Just open up and look around you. Stand up tall with your head up high and let your bright light shine. Don't undervalue the talents and gifts God placed inside of you. Everything you need to be best of you, He has already placed inside of you. It's up to you to water that seed. As it is written you are created in His perfect image and likeness. He created you and said it was good. Yes, He himself The Creator said it was good when He created you. His word says "You are fearfully and wonderfully made". So, say bey, bey, to all the negative thoughts, words and no's of all the doors that were closed in your face and tell everyone and the world around you, You haven't seen anything yet! Be thankful for what you have and where you are and prepare for where you are going, cause God's vision for your life isn't over yet!

Finding your life purpose

The number one question of people all around the globe is? What is my purpose in life? Do I know why I'm here?
statistics says that 90% of people are not happy with the work that they do? People often feel trap cause they work for a paycheck and can't find joy and true happyness in life and in what they do for a living. The work that they do does not complete them and/or define who they are as a person.
All around me I see so many people working on a job that doesn't meet up with their potentials. They are miserable with their work, they don't love it, there is no challenge, they can't grow and they feel stuck.
Looking back at my own school years I feel like the system prepairs you to get ready for a job that they think is good for you. They are not looking at you as a person with your own qualities and help you form to become the best of you. You really have to have a self awareness of who you are and what you want to be in this life, or else the system is gonna be the one to form you into their image of what they want you to be.

I love to talk with people about finding our purpose in life. I know exactly how it feels to work at a place that does not meet up with your potentials, I know exactly how it is when people try to place you in their boxes. I know exactly what it is and how it feels when you know inside yourself you where created to do so much more and you are still running that race to get free from a system that tries to keep you down. That is why it is so important for you to know who you are and what you where created to do? Next to my Faith this is where I hold on to when I feel life pressure coming down on me. Cause it is one thing to know your purpose, but it is another thing to walk in your purpose. Don 't be discourage when it's not going the way you hoped it would be. The bigger your purpose, the bigger the challenge, but also the greater and bigger the joy and fullfilment. I believe God doesn't give us more than we can handle. He will strengthen you, He will guide you, He will comfort you on your journey. You owe it to yourself to live your life to the maximum cause no one else is gonna do it for you. If you won't take the step to live and work for your own dreams, you will always be working and living to fullfil someone else's dream. And in order to walk in your purpose you have to know who you are?

I have been reading, researching, listening and praying about life purpose and walking in my calling over and over again. I'm not there yet, but I have always known that there is so much more inside of me, so much more than what teachers and others said about me. I am more than the work that I do. This is not only for me, it's for you too. No matter in what stage of life you are. God has placed greatness in each one of us. And it's never to late to take that step to find out your purpose in life. If you woke up this morning it means you still have a purpose in this life. I love what Joel Osteen and T.D Jakes say in their preachings: If you can't get there running, you walk, If you can't get there walking you crawl, but whatever you do, do something. Even if you have to fail your way to succes never stop or give up!

Here are some helpful keys I want to share with you about finding your life purpose: 

• Know who you are? 
• What touches your heart?
• What and who do you love?
• Who do you admire and why do you admire them?
• What are you deeply committed to?
• What do you stand for? 
• What are your personal principles?
• When are you at your best?
• What is giving you the greatest feeling of importance?
• What makes you really angry?
• What is it that you definitely don't want to do in life?
• What are the things that you vallue the most in life?
• What are your gifts and talents?
• What did you love to do as a child?

I hope these helpful keys will help you in your journey of finding out your life purpose? After you have found out who you are, why you are here and what you represent you can start making plans and goals to walk out you life purpose. "I will be talking about that in the next topic"

I know for myself who I am. I'm a woman who loves God, who loves acting, writing and poetry. My heart goes out to young girls and woman. With the passion that I have for art I want to make a change. I want to make a difference in building up selfesteem. I want girls and woman to be aware that they are more than sexual objects, that they are more than a piece of meet, that they are more than a one night stand. I want them to know that they are more than what the world projects on them. I want to go around the world with my own creative poetry/theatre productions and inspire them to reach higher, higher than what they have been thought or have seen, to dig deeper and not to settle for less than Gods best for their lifes.

So I just woke up after a late night poetry class yesterday.
I  have been participating in a program called talentlab at Bijlmerpark theatre in Amsterdam. It has been a tough rollercoaster year with ups and downs but we are almost at the finishline. Yes there were some giants I had to face. It wasn't easy cause those giants had me questioning myself and my talents over and over again. I am a perfectionist and what I do, I want to do it better, I want to be the best, I want to be the best of the best in what I do. Is that a bad habbit? Maybe, sometimes.

Sometimes cause it reacts on my enemy frustration and it can take away all the fun out of learning. But on the other hand shouldn't we reach out to be the best in what we do? They always say, don't settle for where you are but always reach out for higher. And that is what I do. I may be the only one experiencing this but I feel that as an artist as a performer I cannot survive being just good or an average. It's like the law of the jungle, only the strongest survive. After being part of this world now for 34 years I can say it's not only the law of the jungle, but also the law of the world. You have to have backbones to make it in this world. I do believe we all have those backbones or else we wouldn't be here today. The fact that we woke up this morning says we have backbones. In my proces of 34 years I can also say that talent alone won't bring you succes or bring you to your destination. The most important question is are you prepaired and determenid? You can be as good as you want to but if you are not determined you won't get any far.

Yes, I have my seasons when I have all the creativity in the world, when I feel that I'm the best and that I can tackle every giant. Yes even Goliath. But I'll be honest I can also have some dark and cloudy seasons. When I have no inspiration, I can't write, I can't think of anything creative, I can't move and all I just want to do is fly, fly away from everything. For me as a artist not having any inspiration, having a writersblock or not being able to create is one of the most painful parts. It makes you doubt yourself as a artist, it steals away the air that you need to breath to make you feel alive. The only thing that I can do in these moments is pray, pray and pray. Here is where I realise that my own creativity and strength is limited and I just let God be God.
Then inside of me this small seed with the size of a mustard seed keeps on pushing and pushing this faith through me. It picks me up and pushes me forth to keep on going. It shows me that there is still so much that hasn't been said, still so much that hasn't been written and still so much that hasn 't been done. These are the moments when I realise that every voice, every sound, every idea matters. And that there are so many voices and talents out there that don't speak, that don't say a thing. They are just there minding their own bussines or adding nothing uplifting to the platform.

As a believer I do believe we all have been given talents according to our own ability. And that we have to use, no matter the size of what has been given to us. We are called to shine our lights in this dark world. That's why I'm also determined to use and take out all that God has placed in me. Just as Les Brown qoutes: Die empty, don't die and take all your dreams and talents with you. I believe, I know that I have been created by a Great God and that there is greatness inside of me. Knowing that I'm in a process, on a journey gives me peace. Too many times I required of myself to know it all, to do it all and to have it all. But life is teaching me that, that is not the way it works.

Are you happy with who You are?

Your eyes, your ears, your voice, do you know that you where perfectly created and formed, exactly in the way God wanted you to be. He sees the ability’s in you and knows what He can do through you? A lot of times when we look at ourselves we only see the things we cannot do, that's also the way it is in the world today. Sometimes people only look at you for the things that you can and what you have achieved. God looks at you and sees all kind of ability’s and opportunity’s.
He also want us to look at our self like that, and that we stop complaining when He call us to step out in greatness. Many times we think, I’m not good enough, I don't have that agree to do that, our we have failed for some things in the past and now we are afraid to try it again. Don’t you know that those who have success are those who never gave up. God did not give us a spirit of  fear but of  power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 tim 1:7)
We need to stop thinking like victims, stop looking at our problems like they are giants. Instead of that we need to focus and know the greatness of God that lives inside of us. God created us just the way He wanted us to be, He gave us all different kind of talents to use it, to multiply it, to use it in this dark world to make a difference in the world. God loves us and wants good things for us. God loves you and has a hopeful future for you! Not only for me, but also for you!
God is willing and more than able if you just believe. What your mind and heart believes, that is who you are and who you will always be. Stop believing the negativity you have heard all your life or what people have been telling you. But start believing the promises God has for your life!

For those who loved life and everybody that lost love ones. Words sometimes, are just not enough to express the pain and loneliness that has been left behind. The time and reason was not the way life is supposed to end. For every heart and life that slipped away. Not one of you will be forgotten!  

Where it all begins!

Where did it all begin? Can you remember the day that you woke up and realize that you wanted to be a teacher, a doctor, a lawyer, a dancer or an actrice? Being inspired by the people surrounding you or what you have seen on the TV or heard on the radio. Suddenly there was a fire inside of you and you where determent to be what you desired to be. You had it all planned out, there was a strength inside of you that kept you going on. And then 1 day you wake up to find out, that you're on a road that you don't even know how you got there. Dark and rainy days have slowly entered your sunny, shiny road. The things in life have got you cut up, confused and hurt. Living a life and wondering if it's really yours? Cause you never thought that the sun of your childhood would lead you to this point in life! The reality is that in life we go through rain and storms, we have or ups and downs, we gain and we lose but not for nothing! By our trials and tribulations we learn and we grow. We learn that there is strength inside of us, there is a strength God placed in every woman and man. That strength grows stronger with every storm that passes by. And the beauty of it all is that you don't have to stand through the storms alone! God is there right by your side! And all the visions, thoughts and dreams that encouraged you and gave you strength are seeds that He placed inside your heart. And that seed is waiting there for you to water it, so that vision, those thoughts and dreams inside of you can come to live. From the beginning of life we all receive a seed that is pure and true, to work out, so we can make a change in this world. That’s why we all need a vision a thought or a dream in life. If you don’t know what is yours I want you to take some time to find out what your vision, what your thought and what your dream is? And when you find it don't be afraid to work it out, so you can be part of making a difference in the world today!
